Macbeth at the London Eye

Macbeth at the London Eye

On 19th May, Year 7 and 8 students won the chance to show off their wares to crowds around the London Eye. They performed to wandering tourists, passing business men and women and other school students and how quickly the crowds gathered! The witches terrified innocent bystanders when they eerily hissed at them to pass along the dagger and Lady Macbeth proved that she was the essence of evil when seizing the crown from her husband’s head and placing it triumphantly on her own.

The event was just a glimpse of what is to come when students in KS3 perform the play in October at the Broadway Theatre in Lewisham. This is part of the national Shakespeare Schools’ Festival in which hundreds of schools across the country stage Shakespeare plays with professional technical and acting support! Please do come along and support this as the students will be working very hard!

(NB: No innocent bystander was harmed in this production as the dagger was replaced by a wooden spoon!)
