Southwark Council asked Mr Di Emidio to attend a meeting to understand why so many of our young people have got involved compared to all other Southwark schools. This is due in no small part to the range of work conducted by the Citizenship department at school and our School Council which encourages our young people to be proactive in campaigning for change.
Monique, is in her second year and is now the most successful young person the council has worked with in the last seven years, Monique has completed her youth bank training and has just been involved in her third successful bid. She has completed 3 AQA's and just recently has raised five thousand pounds for her peers and is in the process of planning a youth conference for young people in her area. During the last year Monique completed an anti- bullying film and completed her silver arts award.
“It is fantastic to see so many of our young people working so hard to encourage positive change in our local community.” David Sheppard, headteacher.
