The Charter School

Business & Enterprise College

In September 2005 The Charter School became designated a Business & Enterprise College as part of the Specialist Schools Programme (SSP).

All the activity conducted in the school to support this specialism.  CRE8 (CREATE) is our brand for all activities that we conduct both in and out of school that link to our specialism as a Business and Enterprise College.  The acronym is designed to encompass a range of different attributes  that are either developed or delivered  through these activities.

C - Competition
R - Reward
E - Enterprise
A - Aspirational
T - Teamwork
E - E-Learning

The Specialist School Programme helps schools to raise standards in secondary education by working in partnership with private sector sponsors in the development of establishments which provides a wide range of learning opportunities, with specific emphasis on subjects which relate to the specialism, in the case of The Charter School; Maths, ICT & Business. However, with the Government's Enterprise agenda now being introduced there is encouragement and support to develop Enterprise across the curriculum.

As a Specialist School we are also working with our feeder primary schools, voluntary and community groups (Three Hills Forum, Lively Minds & Dulwich Helpline, Friends of King's College Hospital) and the wider community (residents, local businesses etc.) in order to maximise the positive and beneficial impact on the community within which the school resides.
