Enrichment
We offer our students the following enrichment opportunities in the Sixth Form
- Duke of Edinburgh - gold and bronze award offered. Now in our second year we already have 30 students who have completed the Gold Award - we are the only state school in Southwark to offer the Gold Award
- Subsidised driving lessons arranged through a local school
- Currently, some Year 12 students are studying undergraduate courses, for example, in ICT, Literature, Modern Foreign Languages, Engineering and Social Sciences
- All students are given the opportunity to participate in team sports
- All Sixth formers are given the opportunity to act as mentors to younger students, helping with homework and being a positive role model
- Year 12 students can take part in Sport Leadership courses
- Eleven Year 12 students went to Ghana this summer to assist with the completion of our link school there and mentoring pupils. We will shortly be selecting the next cohort for the visit in July 2010
- We have a developing mentoring programme for our students. Subject mentors are available from a number of leading city firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Norton Rose and SJ Berwin.
- Supporting our science specialism our 6 form scientists take part in a science club at King's College London
- Supporting our business & enterprise specialism we offer enterprise events including competitons with prize money!
